virtual coffee: sip 2

12 Oct

happy tuesday!

i can’t believe how fast this week flew by. if we were really having coffee i would start with that. vroom. super fast.

then i would tell you about the mini-vacay we took with the in-laws to a little town just an hour north of us: shawnee-on-the-deleware.

we ate apple pie and saw water falls and walked in the woods and worked crossword puzzles and just . . . relaxed.

it was bliss.

and so wonderful to only have an hour drive home, and to be back here this morning, gettin’ down to bizness. because there’s lot of it do. even in the uncertainty of my in-betweeness career-wise, i have lots to do. and i would tell you about it. and you would most likely be confused because it’s all so intertwined and odd.

and you would probably offer some wisdom on a similar time in your life, and how only be the grace of God it always comes together, and you find that the timing was ordained – that’s the only way to say it.

at least i hope that’s what you’d say. that’s the only way i know to describe the peace i have in the uncertainty.

and we’d take a long sip.

and hope for an early night. to rest up from the relaxing. and power through another vrooming week, until we sip again.

cheers.

so weird. for the first time ever i have no color in my hair – it finally grew out and is definitely brown, but this waterfall was magical and made it red. i kind of like it. ha! we’ll see.

Love the waterfalls. and the interstate photo. I need to look this place up! I wonder how far it is from me.

thanks sharon! it’s called bushkill falls in shawnee-on-the-delware, pa. we were surprised when we got there that it’s privately owned and costs $10 a person! we almost didn’t go in, out of principle and stinginess – but i’m so glad we did.

that interstate is the NJ turnpike which we got stuck on accidentally at one point. good times!

You are so right about the times of uncertainty – God’s hand is still leading, we just don’t see it until afterwards.

i like this one bunches. and i’m hoping that the grace of god does bring it all together. and if i apply what i think i’m learning in class, hope must involve risk. or am i getting that backwards? i don’t know. dan allender says a lot of words.

but i’d like to sip. and i’d like to rest. i’m going home tomorrow for reading week and will email then, as well as toy with the blogging world. inhale exhale. if only i had more time for that! i’ll attempt a crossword on the plane for you if you say it brings relaxation :) love!

What a gorgeous little place to have a get-away! And I love that drapey striped shirt. I have had quite a few of those moments, where I can look back and see why God worked it out the way it all happened – even if it didn’t make sense at the time.
    Happy Coffee Day!

The apple pie and relaxing weekend sound great! And, yes, I think, unfortunately ‘sometimes’, timing is everything.

    • dearabbyleigh October 14, 2010 at 6:49 pm #

i’m holding onto the fortunate part of it. i think if it all fell in place evenly, you’d have no steps to climb, and then – how would you ever get a glute workout?

      took that metaphor too far?
      perhaps.

      thanks for stopping by!
