nyc take 1

5 Sep

yesterday we ventured into the big city for the first time.

view from Central Park Reservoir

(notice i am NOT talking about tasty kitchen, because we had waffles for dinner on friday. not talking about it. especially since it is now not so hot, and i plan on making recipe 4 tonight! then end)

as i was saying, the city.

luke had never, ever been, and i’ve only been once, so we’ve been anxious to get there since seeing “New York City, 115 miles” on a friendly green sign.  a birthday is always a good excuse for a trip and an adventure, so we took the bus a couple hours east to celebrate luke’s birthday a little early.

we parked:

more central park

we played:

at the met

we admired:

oh, monet!

we walked:

only blister-proof with socks!

we ate:

in greenwich village

and ate:

soy sushi extravaganza

and brought some home to eat more:

magnolia bakery joy!

in fact. i think it’s time for another cupcake!

come visit us and we’ll take you to the city.

we’re experts now, errr, enthusiastic visitors at the very least!
